The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, priced at $96,666 by Dodge, is being listed by a Maryland dealer for a staggering $200,000 markup, totaling $334,036. The dealer, Ourisman Chrysler, is also marking up other models, and while negotiation may be possible, the exorbitant markup raises questions about the car's affordability and potential for sale.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is one of only four production cars capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in under 2 seconds, and the only one with a combustion engine. The other three are the Pininfarina Battista, Rimac Nevera, and Tesla Model S Plaid, but they cost significantly more than the Demon. While the Demon's acceleration numbers were recorded on a sticky surface and with the engine running on E85 fuel, it still offers a great price-to-performance ratio.
