"Portland Teenager's Remains Identified 54 Years Later"
The remains of an unidentified teenager found 54 years ago in Oregon have been identified as Sandra Young, a Grant High School student who went missing in 1968 or 1969. The discovery was made by a Boy Scout troop on Sauvie Island, and investigators suspected foul play due to trauma to the body. After years of research and innovative DNA studies, the Oregon State Police Medical Examiner’s Office, with the help of the Portland Police Bureau, confirmed the identity of the remains as belonging to Sandra Young, providing closure after more than five decades.
