Apple's veteran hardware engineering executive, DJ Novotney, is leaving the company after almost 25 years to join Rivian as senior vice president of vehicle programs, making him the second Apple executive to depart for Rivian this month. Novotney has been involved in the development of iconic Apple products such as the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, and has also worked on the Project Titan electric car team and future home devices.
