"Borderland High School Football Teams Face Major Changes in 2024 UIL Realignment"
The UIL realignment for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years has caused significant changes for high school football teams in the Borderland area, with several teams moving districts. Notably, Americas and El Dorado will move down a class to join Parkland and Bel Air in a new four-team District 1-5A Division I, while Del Valle, Hanks, Horizon, and Ysleta will form a new nine-team District 1-5A Division II. Additionally, Clint, Fabens, Mountain View, and Ysleta are moving to District 1-4A, rekindling the Riverside-Ysleta rivalry as a district game.
