Oprah Winfrey and Dwayne Johnson have donated $10 million to establish the People's Fund of Maui, which will provide direct cash assistance of $1,200 per month to residents displaced by the devastating wildfires on the island. The fund aims to support those most affected and help them make decisions for themselves and their families. The initiative was created under the guidance of community residents and leaders, including singer Kealiʻi Reichel and hula teacher Hōkūlani Holt.
