'Shaakuntalam' Fails to Impress Critics and Box Office on Day 1
Despite the star power of Samantha, Dil Raju, and Gunasekhar, the opening day collection of their movie Shakunthalam was mediocre. The film failed to generate a proper opening and couldn't bring in a share of Rs 14 lakh in Uttarandhra. The industry was expecting more collections than Yashoda, but the marketing, publicity, or premiere planning seems to have gone awry somewhere, and the opening did not come. Comments are circulating throughout the industry, stating that it is a grave mistake to premiere a movie, especially when the content is subpar.
