Rising Youth Violence Claims Lives in Washington D.C.
A 15-year-old boy, Jaylin Osborne, was shot and killed in Southeast Washington, D.C., making him the fourth student from Digital Pioneers Academy (DPA) to die from gun violence this year. DPA's founder and CEO, Mashea M. Ashton, expressed condolences to Jaylin's family and called for action to address the city's youth violence epidemic. Ashton recommended keeping children indoors in the evening and engaged in supervised activities during the day. She also pledged to meet with city officials and civic leaders to demand improved public safety measures. The shooting is under investigation, and no suspects or motives have been identified.
