Diego Valeri's Memorable Retirement Celebration with Portland Timbers

Diego Valeri, the legendary midfielder for the Portland Timbers, has signed a one-day contract with the club to retire as a Timber. Valeri, the most decorated player in team history, will enter the Timbers' ring of honor and be the first person from the MLS era to receive this recognition. After spending nine seasons with the Timbers, winning the MLS Cup in 2015 and earning MVP honors in 2017, Valeri transferred to Lanús in Argentina to conclude his playing career. A testimonial match between Portland and Lanús is planned for January 2024, where Valeri will play for both teams.
