Jose Antonio Ibarra, the suspected killer of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, illegally entered the US in 2022 and was released due to a lack of detention space. He had no known connection to Riley and was arrested in connection with her murder. Riley, known for her kindness and dedication to nursing and running, was found dead with visible injuries on a trail near the University of Georgia campus. Ibarra's older brother, Diego Ibarra, was also arrested for having a fraudulent green card.
