Jesse Lee Soffer Directs 'Chicago P.D.' in Triumphant Return.
Jesse Lee Soffer, who played Detective Jay Halstead on "Chicago P.D." for 10 years, has returned to the set to direct an episode for the first time. Soffer shadowed other directors on the show and was excited to direct an episode featuring Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) going off the rails. Soffer left the show to pursue other opportunities and is now focused on growing as a director. He has no plans to direct again yet, but is open to the possibility.
