"Communication with Traffic Lights: Ensuring Your Presence at Red Lights"
Some traffic lights rely on detection devices such as cameras, underground sensors, induction loops, magnetic detectors, magnetometers, and infrared sensors to detect vehicles and control the lights. To ensure you're within the detection area, pull up to the solid white stop line at the intersection or position your tires on the tar lines if you're not driving a car. If you're stuck at a red light, flashing your high-beam headlights may help activate the sensor. Running a red light is not recommended, but you can consider making a legal right turn or finding an alternative route if you're waiting for a left turn light.
