The St. Louis Zoo is set to open a new $40 million Destination Discovery in 2026, which will replace the old children's zoo area. The new area will feature animal interaction, including Tasmanian devils, Chilean flamingoes, and prairie dogs. The project also includes an expanded preschool and indoor education space. The Jubel foundation is giving a lead $15 million gift, with the rest coming from donations and other sources.
