A helicopter that was being transported on a truck got stuck underneath an overpass on S. Range Avenue in Denham Springs, Louisiana. The road was temporarily closed but has since reopened after officials successfully removed the helicopter. The incident occurred when the load was too tall and the helicopter engine hit the overpass. Authorities from the Denham Springs Police Department, Louisiana State Police, and the La. Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) responded to the scene.

Denham Springs Police Corporal Shawn Kelly died at the hospital on Friday, June 2 from the injuries he sustained from multiple gunshot wounds at a popular shopping center on May, 11. Kelly was a Taser instructor and field training officer who had received multiple commendations for his generous ways and positive attitude. Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard called Kelly a hero who died doing what he loved to do - serving and protecting his community.
