Maine Shooter's Delusions: Businesses Spreading Rumors and Broadcasting Pedophile Claims
New documents reveal that the suspect in the Lewiston mass shooting, Robert Card, was delusional and believed that businesses, including a bowling alley and a bar, were spreading rumors online that he was a pedophile. Card had been delusional since February after a breakup, had been hospitalized for mental illness, and stopped taking prescribed medication. Law enforcement had been warned multiple times about Card's deteriorating mental health and fears of a mass shooting, but no action was taken. The shooting left 18 people dead and more than a dozen injured.
