Elizabeth Gilbert, author of "Eat, Pray, Love," has delayed the publication of her upcoming novel, "The Snow Forest," due to backlash from Ukrainian fans over its Russian setting amid the ongoing invasion. The book, set in Siberia during the 20th century, centers around a group of people who left society in resistance of the Soviet government and to defend nature against rapid industrialization. Gilbert acknowledged that the setting could hurt the cause of her Ukrainian fans fighting against the Kremlin's invasion and decided to remove the book from its publication schedule until after the war in Ukraine ends.
