The Carolina Panthers are releasing linebacker Deion Jones as part of their roster cut to 53 players. Jones, who signed with the Panthers in July, had a limited preseason performance with five tackles. Previously a six-year starter with the Atlanta Falcons, Jones was traded to the Cleveland Browns last year but struggled with injuries. This release leaves Jones searching for a new team to continue his NFL career.
With the release of Chase Roullier, the Washington Commanders now have around $8m in available cap space to sign a veteran linebacker in free agency. Here are five under-30 free agent linebackers who are still on the market and available to be signed: Deion Jones, Zach Cunningham, Rashaan Evans, Kwon Alexander, and Jayon Brown.
