Sly Stone's Memoir Reveals Drug Dealer Deception and Reclusive Return
Sly Stone and George Clinton once found themselves without money to buy drugs, so Sly came up with a plan to offer a dealer a copy of an album he was working on as collateral. However, the tape was empty, and the dealer, who was a fan of Sly and the Family Stone, respected the trick and still gave them the drugs. This anecdote is included in Sly Stone's upcoming memoir, Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin), set to be published on October 17.
