"The Gates": CBS's Groundbreaking New Daytime Soap Opera Premieres in January
CBS has ordered a new daytime soap opera titled The Gates, set to premiere in January 2025, following the lives of a wealthy Black family in a gated community. The series is developed through a joint venture between CBS Studios and the NAACP, aiming to elevate diverse voices and increase the visibility of Black artists. The show marks broadcast television’s first new daytime soap opera in 25 years and will be led by writer and showrunner Michele Val Jean.
