"Dawood Ibrahim's Ancestral Properties Fetch Over 1,300 Times Reserve Price at Mumbai Auction"

A Delhi lawyer, Ajay Srivastava, has purchased two agricultural plots in Ratnagiri district, which were previously owned by fugitive terrorist Dawood Ibrahim's mother, for Rs 2.04 crore, paying around 1,300 times the reserve price for one of the plots. Srivastava, who also bought Dawood's ancestral home in 2020, plans to use the land for a hostel for students of the Sanatan school through his trust. The high bid was influenced by numerology, as the figures align with Srivastava's birth date. Seven bidders participated in the auction, but no bids were made for two other plots.

Lawyer Ajay Srivastava, a former Shiv Sena leader, has purchased a small plot of land in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district at an auction for Rs 2 crore, far above its reserve price, due to its numerological significance to him. The land was previously owned by India's most wanted terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim. Srivastava plans to set up a Sanatan school on the plot. Other properties of Dawood auctioned under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act did not receive bids. Srivastava has a history of buying properties linked to Dawood, including the don's childhood home, and is known for his legal battles to take possession of these properties.

Two of the four properties owned by the family of Dawood Ibrahim, a notorious underworld figure and key accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, were successfully auctioned in Mumbai. The properties, which were under the name of Ibrahim's mother, were sold under the Safema act. One piece of agricultural land, with a base price of Rs 15,440, fetched a bid of Rs 2.01 crore, while another parcel of land sold for Rs 3.28 lakh, surpassing its reserve price. The identity of the successful bidder, reportedly a Delhi-based lawyer, was not disclosed. This follows previous auctions of Ibrahim's properties in 2017 and 2020.
