Billions Needed to Prevent Unrest and Starvation, Says U.N. Food Chief.
The head of the U.N. World Food Program, David Beasley, has warned that billions of dollars are needed to prevent mass migration, destabilized countries, and starvation in the next 12 to 18 months. Beasley praised increased funding from the U.S. and Germany last year but urged China, Gulf nations, billionaires, and other countries to step up their contributions.
