Daveed Diggs Claims 'Twister' Sequel Rejected for "Shady" Reasons by Universal
Daveed Diggs, co-star of Helen Hunt in "Blindspotting," confirmed that he was attached to a "Twister" sequel that Hunt was writing and intended to direct, but the studio rejected it for "potentially shady" reasons. Hunt had planned to make the sequel inclusive with Black and brown storm chasers, set at an HBCU, and featuring a rocket science club. Universal Pictures is currently developing a "Twister" sequel titled "Twisters," directed by Lee Isaac Chung and starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, set to release in 2024.
