The XFL and USFL have merged to form the United Football League (UFL), consolidating from sixteen teams across two leagues to eight teams in one league. The UFL will consist of teams from both former leagues and will conduct dispersal drafts for players from the teams that are not continuing. The merger aims to improve the overall quality of the league by featuring the best players from both the XFL and USFL. Training camps for players are set to begin on February 23.
