Carson Briere expelled from Mercyhurst hockey team over wheelchair incident.

Carson Briere, son of Philadelphia Flyers interim general manager Daniel Briere, has been removed from the Mercyhurst University hockey team after being charged with criminal mischief, conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. Briere was caught on surveillance video pushing an empty wheelchair down a set of stairs. The incident occurred on March 11 at Sullivan’s Pub and Eatery in Erie. Briere has apologized for his actions and is scheduled to be arraigned on May 22.

College Hockey Player Suspended for Pushing Wheelchair Down Stairs in Viral Video

Mercyhurst University men’s hockey center Carson Briere, son of former NHL player Daniel Briere, was caught on surveillance video allegedly pushing an unoccupied wheelchair down the stairs at a bar. Briere and two other student-athletes in the video were placed on interim suspension from their respective teams. The incident is being investigated by the Erie Police Department. A GoFundMe was started to help raise money for a new wheelchair. Briere was dismissed from the men’s hockey team at Arizona State as a freshman for a violation of team rules.
