Tragic Dog Mauling Claims Life of 6-Year-Old Boy in NE Portland
A 6-year-old boy was killed and an adult woman was injured in a dog mauling incident in Northeast Portland. The boy opened the door behind the woman as she entered the garage to take care of her two dogs, which are believed to be Great Dane and Mastiff mixes. Despite efforts to stop the attack, including retrieving a gun, the child was declared dead at the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital with severe hand wounds. The dogs, previously considered dangerous, will likely be taken into animal control custody.
