
Illinois Assistant Coach and Former UTEP Head, Dana Dimel, Dies at 62
Dana Dimel, a long-time college football coach and former Kansas State All-American, passed away at 62. Dimel had a 35-year coaching career, including head coaching roles at Wyoming, Houston, and UTEP, and most recently served as Illinois' Senior Offensive Assistant. He was part of Kansas State's coaching staff for 19 seasons, contributing to multiple successful campaigns. Dimel is remembered for his positive influence on players and coaches, and is survived by his wife and children.
