Insider Secrets from 'National Lampoon's Vacation' Star Dana Barron
Dana Barron, who played Audrey Griswold in National Lampoon's Vacation, reveals some behind-the-scenes secrets about the making of the 1983 comedy classic. Barron still has the original script and says there are some substantial differences between what screenwriter John Hughes wrote and what ended up on screen. She also reveals that the original ending, which saw the Griswolds become home invaders, was scrapped after test audiences reacted poorly. Barron's forthcoming memoir will also correct some Vacation stories that aren't quite accurate, including a fan theory about Christie Brinkley's famous "Girl in the Red Ferrari."
