George Strait and Chris Stapleton will hold a concert at Jack Trice Stadium on May 25, 2024, marking the first major concert at the venue in over 20 years. Iowa State University is constructing CyTown, an entertainment district between Jack Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum, with plans to enhance the music and cultural scene in Ames. Concert promoters have previously hesitated due to concerns about protecting the football field, but an early spring window allows for field maintenance before the football season. Tickets for the concert will go on sale on September 22, 2023.
