T-Mobile US Announces 5,000 Job Cuts
T-Mobile US plans to cut approximately 5,000 jobs, or 7% of its workforce, in the United States within the next five weeks. The telecom company will primarily target corporate and back-office roles, as well as some technology jobs, while retail and consumer care divisions will remain unaffected. The decision comes as T-Mobile grapples with higher customer acquisition costs. The company expects to incur a pre-tax charge of around $450 million in the third quarter.
