'Home Alone,' 'Apollo 13,' and 'Terminator 2' among 25 iconic films added to National Film Registry
The National Film Registry has selected 25 iconic films, including "Home Alone," "Apollo 13," "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," "Lady and the Tramp," and "12 Years a Slave," for preservation based on their cultural and historic importance. The films span over 90 years of filmmaking, with the oldest from 1921 and the newest from 2013. The registry, housed at the Library of Congress, now includes 875 films. Turner Classic Movies will host a TV special screening a selection of this year's movies.
