A friend of Lori Vallow, the "Doomsday mom" accused of killing her two children, says that "killing the kids, to them, is mercy" due to Vallow's involvement in a "doomsday cult" led by Chad Daybell. Cult experts say that there is no way to profile the kind of person who can be manipulated into joining a cult, and that even smart and educated people can fall prey to extreme beliefs. Vallow may still be holding on to her "zombie" beliefs as a way to cope with allegedly killing her own children.
