Ethereum named top protocol in Fortune's Crypto 40 ranking.
Fortune has released the "Fortune Crypto 40," a list of the most important cryptocurrency companies across eight categories. The list is based on a combination of analysis and executive polling and highlights companies and their technology rather than individuals. Ethereum took the top spot in the protocol category, while Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken were among the top companies in the CeFi category. OpenSea claimed the number one spot in the NFT rankings. All five winners in the DeFi category run on the Ethereum blockchain. Fortune plans to pay more attention to upstart crypto companies in future editions.
