"Typos on Kobe Bryant Statue at Crypto.com Arena to be Corrected"
Originally Published 1 year ago — by The Athletic

The recently unveiled Kobe Bryant statue outside Crypto.com Arena contains four typos on the box score at the base, including misspelled names and incorrect spellings. The Lakers organization confirmed awareness of the errors and is working to correct them. The statue, depicting Kobe's career-high 81-point game, was created by Omri Amrany and Julie Rotblatt-Amrany, with input from Vanessa Bryant and the Lakers. The base also features a quote from Kobe and is etched with his nickname "Black Mamba." Despite the errors, plans for three Kobe statues outside the arena, including one with his daughter Gianna, are underway.
