The family of Kenneka Jenkins, a Chicago woman who was found dead in a hotel freezer in 2017, will receive a $6 million wrongful death settlement. The lawsuit, filed in 2018 against Crowne Plaza Hotel, its security company, and a restaurant that rented the freezer, alleged negligence in monitoring surveillance cameras. Jenkins' death was ruled an accident, with hypothermia, alcohol intoxication, and drug use cited as contributing factors.
