The Truth About Pressing the Pedestrian Button Multiple Times

A TikTok user known as the Traffic Light Doctor explains in a viral video that pressing the pedestrian button multiple times does not make the crosswalk light change any faster. The button sends a signal to the system, which will note the call until the light changes, regardless of how many times it is pressed. The Traffic Light Doctor suggests incorporating advanced sensors and adaptive algorithms to improve crosswalk systems and promote safe interactions between pedestrians and drivers.

Bicycling Safety Concerns Raised After Dartmouth Coach's Serious Injury

Bicyclists are raising safety concerns after a man, identified as Eugine “Buddy” Teevens, was critically injured in a crash on A1A in St. Johns County. Although Teevens crossed in the wrong spot, some say the area is still dangerous for bike riders and walkers. The Florida Highway Patrol reported another crash involving a bicyclist and truck on a different part of A1A a day after Teevens was hit. The county has improved the road, but more needs to be done to make crosswalks safer. Crosswalk locations are currently in the design phase, with construction not expected until next year.
