Spotify's $38M Battle with White Noise Podcasts
Spotify considered removing white noise podcasts from its platform to reduce creator payouts, as these podcasts could earn upwards of $18,000 a month from ads. While the proposal was not implemented, some white noise podcasts have disappeared from users' accounts. In a separate move, Spotify recently raised the price of its Premium accounts to $10.99 per month, bringing it in line with competitors like Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited.
