Funeral Home Owners Arrested for Covid Fraud and Decaying Bodies
The owners of a Colorado funeral home, previously charged after 190 decomposing bodies were found, now face federal charges for fraudulently obtaining $880,000 in pandemic relief funds, which they allegedly spent on vacations and personal goods. The couple, Jon and Carie Hallford, face 15 federal fraud charges in addition to state charges, including corpse abuse, and are currently in custody with a hearing scheduled for Thursday.
