"Young Thug's RICO Trial: A Year of Controversy and Concealments"
Trontavious Stephens, a self-admitted co-founder of Young Slime Life (YSL), testified in court that YSL was intended to be a music label, not a gang. However, his involvement in crimes while part of YSL led to perceptions of the group as a gang. During his testimony, which is part of a plea deal agreed upon in 2022, Stephens distinguished between the positivity of the music label and the negativity associated with gang activities. Despite this, his plea deal acknowledges YSL as a criminal street gang, and he also admitted to being a member of another gang, Roccrew, which later became known as YSL. The trial is set to continue with further testimony.
