Kenwood bus tragedy prompts vigils and counseling for Clarksville area schools
Two Kenwood Middle School students died and at least seven others were critically injured when a school bus on a field trip collided with a Trailblazer and a TDOT dump truck on Highway 70 in Carroll County. The bus carried 25 students and five adults; the driver was severely injured. The TDOT truck wasn’t at fault, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating. The bus was en route to Jackson for a Toyota Hub City Grand Prix/Greenpower USA race. In Clarksville, counselors will be available at Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools and vigils are planned for Monday as the community prays for those affected, with Governor Bill Lee also weighing in.
