"Legendary Deli Closes its Doors: Farewell to Not Corky and Lenny's!"

Corky and Lenny's, a beloved restaurant in Woodmere, Cleveland known for its overstuffed corned beef sandwiches and matzo ball soup, has closed its doors after being unable to find a partner to help sustain the business. The closure is not due to a lack of business, but rather the owners' search for a working partner. There is a possibility of reopening in a smaller location in the future. The restaurant, which opened in 1956 and moved to its current location in 1973, has been a family-run establishment for nearly 70 years.

End of an Era: Beloved Woodmere Restaurant Shuts Its Doors After 68 Years

Corky and Lenny's, an iconic restaurant in Northeast Ohio known for its corned beef and baked goods, has permanently closed its doors. The decision was made by Kenny Kurland, son of the late founder Sanford Kurland. The closure was not due to a lack of business, but rather the difficulty in maintaining a full staff after the pandemic. The restaurant had 80 employees before the pandemic and only 33 afterwards. Despite the challenges, the owners express gratitude for their loyal customers, some of whom traveled from as far as Erie, PA.
