Asus gates high-end CPUs by region in CES 2026 Zenbook refresh
At CES 2026, Asus refreshes the Zenbook S14 (UX5406) and S16 (UM5606) with Intel Panther Lake and AMD Ryzen AI options, but CPU availability is regional: Zenbook S14’s Core Ultra X7/X9 is limited to the US and Europe (Canada gets Core Ultra 9/7), while Europe also gets X3 CPUs; Zenbook S16 uses Ryzen AI, with US configs (HX470/HX465 and a typo’d 5 445) and Canada opting for Ryzen AI 7 445 and HX470. Both lines share OLED 3K displays (14"/16"), 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, and a 77 Wh battery, with charger/output differences between Intel and AMD variants. The laptops go on sale in February 2026 with pricing TBA.
