American runner Cooper Teare won the men's division and Ethiopian Fotyen Tesfay topped the women's division in the Boston 5K, which kicked off the Boston Athletic Association's weekend events leading up to the 128th Boston Marathon. The race featured nearly 10,000 runners, including notable competitors like Boston Red Sox Manager Alex Cora. The event also included wheelchair racing, with Marcel Hug and Eden Rainbow Cooper taking the top spots. The B.A.A. Distance Medley attracted a deep professional field from 19 nations, and more than 40,000 athletes are expected to participate in races throughout the weekend.
