Google Maps is being redesigned with Gemini AI to offer a more conversational, hands-free navigation experience, providing real-time recommendations and improved accuracy, aiming to enhance user interaction and competitiveness in the AI-driven tech landscape.
Google's AI-powered search experience, known as SGE (Search Generative Experience), is expanding globally to over 120 countries and territories, supporting four new languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, and Indonesian. SGE allows users to interact with an AI using natural language, providing fully formed answers instead of just a list of links. The update also includes improvements such as asking follow-up questions, translations, and definitions. Google is testing a new way for users to ask follow-up questions directly on the search results page and enhancing the translation and definitions features. The expansion aims to make generative AI in search accessible to more people worldwide.
