Arc Raiders, having launched successfully, plans to release significant new content through the end of 2025, including maps, events, and gameplay updates, solidifying its position as a top multiplayer game on PS5.
EA has announced a detailed content roadmap for Battlefield 6's first season, starting October 28, with new maps, modes, weapons, and gameplay features released in three phases through December, promising substantial post-launch support for the game.
Developer Embark Studios, behind the live-service FPS game The Finals, has decided not to commit to a content roadmap, unlike many other games in the genre. The studio aims to avoid making promises it can't keep. Currently in Season 1, The Finals offers a battle pass with various cosmetics and in-game currency, but what Season 2 will bring remains unknown. The game's developers also discussed the destructible nature of environments, highlighting the need to draw a line to prevent players from digging holes. The team is addressing issues such as skill-based matchmaking and cheating, while defending their use of AI tools to enhance productivity.
Blizzard has canceled the original vision for Overwatch 2's PvE Hero mode due to the effort required to pull all of that together into a Blizzard-quality experience that they can ship to players. However, the game's creative leads are assuring fans that PvE is still a focus for the game moving forward, with story missions coming in Season 6 and a new support hero. Blizzard is moving away from the idea of a singular PvE release moment and into a plan of doing PvE stuff all the time.
