Contractor Abandons Projects and Fails to Pay Subcontractors in Lowcountry
A Lowcountry contractor in South Carolina, Paul Kime, is facing multiple legal battles and accusations of abandoning projects after receiving payment from customers and failing to pay subcontractors for their work. One couple hired Kime to build a home but claim he barely started the project before backing out, leaving them frustrated and without a completed house. Several lawsuits have been filed against Kime, alleging unfair trade practices and breach of contract. Subcontractors have also accused Kime of not paying them for their work. Kime denies the allegations and claims he lost money in every business deal. The State Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation has received a complaint against Kime, but state law prohibits disclosing whether there are other complaints against him.
