A woman was seriously injured in a black bear attack in central Minnesota while letting her dog outside. The bear swiped at her, causing serious injuries in several places before leaving the area. The woman was treated at a local hospital and later released. The incident was reported to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

The job duties include enforcing game and fish laws, educating the public about wildlife management, conducting wildlife surveys, capturing "problem animals," investigating wildlife damage, assisting in wildlife relocations, and developing new regulations. Black bears are New Mexico's state animal, with an estimated population of around 6,000 bears.
