Twins Recall Matt Wallner as José Miranda Lands on Injured List
The Minnesota Twins have placed third baseman Jose Miranda on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement, adding to their growing list of injured infielders. In a corresponding move, outfielder Matt Wallner has been called up from Triple-A. The Twins have been hit hard by injuries this season, and with Miranda joining Jorge Polanco, Nick Gordon, and Royce Lewis on the injured list, the team will rely on Edouard Julien, Kyle Farmer, and Donovan Solano in the infield. Polanco is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon, while top pitching prospect Connor Prielipp is set to undergo surgery on his UCL.
