Experts are concerned about the US government's plan to handle delicate AI policies after Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that he is working with European partners to outline a voluntary AI conduct code. Marc Rotenberg, executive director at the Center for AI and Digital Policy, believes that such decisions should be made through political institutions and not just at high-level meetings. Rotenberg also expressed frustration with the voluntary conduct codes, as the US is already part of the OECD AI principles, which the US led the effort on.
