Watertown's Controversial Reversal: Parking Spaces Restored
Property owners and some city council members in Watertown, New York, were caught off guard by the installation of large concrete planters that took away parking spaces in downtown. The city planner claims that the plans have been public for two years, but the previous owner of the building and council members say they were not aware of the planters or the loss of parking. City taxpayers will now have to pay nearly $40,000 to remove the planters and add two ADA-accessible angled parking spots.
