A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a concrete barrier on southbound Interstate 15 and landing in oncoming lanes, resulting in the closure of all lanes for several hours.
The 2023 Canadian Grand Prix will feature a new concrete barrier in the Turn 1 run-off area to prevent drivers from cutting Turn 2. The barrier, which has a line of Tecpro in front of it, extends to the end of the grass on the inside of the Turn 2 apex, forcing drivers who run wide at Turn 1 to either drive over the grass or rejoin the track beyond an orange bollard. Other changes include the enlargement of the run-off at Turn 3 and realignment of the walls at Turn 7.
