LPGA and USGA Implement New Gender Eligibility Rules for Competitors
The LPGA has updated its Gender Policy for Competition Eligibility, effective from the 2025 season, to ensure competitive integrity in women's professional and elite amateur golf tournaments. The policy, developed with input from experts and stakeholders, allows only athletes assigned female at birth to compete in LPGA events, excluding those who have undergone male puberty. This decision aims to maintain fairness in women's competitions while offering inclusive opportunities in non-elite events.
